About Bluffs Construction
Randy Lampkin, Bluffs’ owner, has performed projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, USDA – NRCS, MS State Department of Transportation and numerous Municipalities and Counties across Mississippi. On special occasions our Staff have even traveled to work from areas of the United States form North Dakota to Florida. As a third generation in the Construction industry, Randy has witnessed the evolution of this industry and employs the latest equipment including GPS based equipment with integrated CAD for layout and performance of the work. This stake-less technology saves time and cost but don’t turn your back on pencil and paper they still work just fine. Our work is so ever-changing with unforeseeable events, that being able to adjust on the fly is a great attribute, even better when you are prepared for them.
Environmental impacts cannot be overlooked in this day and age, so performing work while protecting the environment is always integrated into each project in the most advantageous way for the project.
While on time and within budget are both great goals to be obtained, Partnering cannot be overlooked in today’s market. Partnering with Engineers and Clients to get the most out of every dollar for the benefit of the project is paramount. These relationships are built over years of working together with Engineers and Industry Leaders to promote quality projects again and again.
Heritage
It’s weird to think about my Choctaw Heritage as I was learning about it when I was a kid and how confusing it was to me. “So what do you mean ?”, I would ask as a child.
I am a Choctaw of the Oklahoma Band of Choctaw Indians.
I was born and raised in Vicksburg, MS.
Mississippi being where the Choctaw originated from before my ancestors were forced to live in Oklahoma even though some were allowed to stay in what is now Philadelphia, MS. Let’s not get into the politics of that. So somehow, I ended up in Mississippi anyway.
My Choctaw Heritage was always celebrated in Oklahoma and for some reason Oklahoma always feels like home even though Mississippi is our true home for all Choctaw.
My Great Grandmother was Winnie Pope Gibson aka Winnie Katherine Pope, 1902-1995, Choctaw Roll No. 8629. She was an original enrollee and was given roll number 8629. She is memorialized in the book “Life and Times of The Choctaw Original Enrollees “, which gives a brief biography. She and my Grandfather her son, Jim G Gibson shall forever live in my heart.
Tradition and family are the backbone of Bluffs Construction.
